Upon returning to Newcastle and setting up my own practice, I became acutely aware of a shortage of paediatric trained audiologists as well as a lack of facilities offering paediatric services.
The hearing centre is located within my practice in Jesmond. Patients with a referral are able to claim a portion of the cost back from Medicare.
Sally Moylan joined us last month. She is a Clinical Audiologist with over 30 years experience. She has specialist skills in testing babies and children. She has worked in a variety of clinical settings including Sydney Children’s Hospital, Prince of Wales Hospital and Sydney Ear Nose and Throat Centre. She is an Audiology Australia Accredited Audiologist.
Comprehensive hearing assessments offered:
• Babies from 8 months using Visually Reinforced Orientation Audiometry (VROA)
• Children 3-5 years old play audiometry
• Adults hearing tests
• Pre employment, aviation and dive assessment
• Custom moulded ear plugs for noise, swimming and sleeping
