Guidelines for tonsillectomy
Paradise criteria:
- 7 infections over 1 year, OR
- 5 infections annually over 2 years, OR
- 3 infections annually for 3 years
Other issues that warrant consideration:
- developing a quinsy (an abscess in the mouth)
- oral ulcers
- antibiotic allergies
- snoring and sleep issues
